15 - Digipack

Analysis of two Digipack covers

I've choosen to do an analysis of Green Day Digipacks as that is that band the music video is for.

The first Digipack I am analysing is 'Bullet In A Bible' by 'Green Day'.

The second Digipack I am analysing is 'Live In Berlin' by 'Green Day'.

The front cover is simple but effective. It clearly shows the band, so people will recognize it as a Green Day DVD. It also has the bands name and the title of the DVD above the band.

In the photo of the band, they are making eye contact with the camera which will grab the attention of the target audience. Also, the Frontman is pointing towards the camera, as if he is pointing to 'You'. The clothes they are wearing will also appeal to the target audience.
The title 'LIVE 8 BERLIN' is in Red, as is the Tie on the Frontman. The rest of the front cover (including the photo) is in black and white.

The spine is kept simple, with the name of the band, 'Green Day'. Along with the title of the DVD. It also has additional detail about the DVD saying the date of live performance 'ON 2005.07.02'

The back cover is also kept quite simple. It shows the bands name and the title of the DVD again. It then lists all the different songs that are included in the DVD.
There is a photo of the Frontman of the band on the back cover. This is also in black and white, to keep with the theme of the DVD.
